Awesome-sauce!

We made homemade applesauce today
with the help of Ruby's mom, Mrs. VanBronkhorst.

First, we all got a turn to chop the peeled apples.

Then we put the apples pieces in two large crock pots,
added 1 cup of water,
 brown sugar and cinnamon.

We let the apples cook slowly all day.
Their sweet smell began to travel through our hallways,
inviting friends to come and taste.
By the end of the day, both crock pots were completely empty.
Great job kindergarten cooks!!!

Let's - Go - Fly - a Kite!

In science, we are study weather and climate.
One of our experiments included observing the wind.
Tuesday was the perfect day to make kites and fly them outside.
Just look at all the fun we had together!!

We discovered that if you stood on top of the hill,
your kite would fly all by itself!

 However, running with your kite
was still the popular choice!

When we returned inside,
we recorded what our kite looked like inside our school
and then what it looked like outside in the field.
Capturing air in our kite showed us how powerful the wind can be!
Hold on tight!!

We Are Readers!

On Wednesday morning,
we celebrated our strong reading skills
with a loud and proud parade!!
We are able to use character voices,
find exact words,
use beginning sounds to decode text and so much more.
Most importantly, we LOVE to read!!

Watch out office staff, we're coming in with volume!!
